Fonds ZOZ
Fonds ZOZ geeft ondersteuning aan makers die met hun werk maatschappelijke dialoog stimuleren, mensen aan het denken zetten, taboes doorbreken, polarisatie verminderen en verbinding zoeken.
ZOZ is in 2017 opgericht als themafonds van het Cultuurfonds en steunt professionele kunst- en cultuurprojecten die polarisatie in Nederland verminderen. Een mens moet zichzelf herkennen in de samenleving om zich verbonden te voelen. Wanneer deze herkenning ontbreekt, kan er een gevoel van vervreemding ontstaan: je voelt je buitengesloten. Dit vergroot de afstand tussen jou en de maatschappij, waardoor de kloof tussen jou en anderen groter wordt. Met de projecten die we via de ZOZ-aanvraagroutes ondersteunen sporen we mensen aan om uit hun eigen bubbel te stappen en nieuwsgierig te zijn naar de andere kant van het verhaal.
Twee aanvraagroutes
Je kunt bij Fonds ZOZ een aanvraag doen via twee routes:
- Onderzoek – voor makers die eerst onderzoek willen doen naar een maatschappelijk thema (via de ZOZ Academy). Dit kan een springplank zijn voor het aanvragen van een project.
- Project – voor de uitvoering van een uitgewerkt artistiek project, met plannen voor presentatie en/of distributie (Via de Quickscan)
In beide gevallen gaat het om projecten met maatschappelijke urgentie, een duidelijke artistieke signatuur en een sterke relatie met het publiek.

Algemene voorwaarden
- Het project of de organisatie heeft geen politiek of religieus doel.
- Het project en/of de organisatie heeft geen winstoogmerk.
- We zijn terughoudend in het ondersteunen van organisaties die structurele financiële steun van de overheid ontvangen.
- Het project is artistiek van aard en er zijn professionele makers/kunstenaars bij het project betrokken.
- Het project probeert concreet polarisatie, radicalisering en extremisme in de Nederlandse samenleving te verminderen.
- Het project bevat altijd een contextprogramma en/of educatieve component (ook dit geldt enkel voor projecten, voor pilots/onderzoeken niet).
- Het project wordt gepresenteerd bij locaties, platforms en/of podia die relevant zijn voor de doelgroep van het project.
- Het project vindt binnen Nederland plaats. Het project heeft bij voorkeur een landelijk bereik of landelijke spreiding. We zijn terughoudend in het ondersteunen van projecten die een provinciaal karakter (voor pilots/onderzoeken geldt dit niet).
- Een aanvraag bij een ander Cultuurfonds onderdeel, zoals een provinciale afdeling of landelijke discipline, heeft altijd de voorkeur boven een aanvraag bij Fonds ZOZ (wij kunnen maar 80 a 100 projecten per jaar steunen en zijn aanvullend op de reguliere werkzaamheden van het Cultuurfonds)
- Projecten over mentale of fysieke aandoeningen en ziektes steunen wij door budgetbeperkingen niet.
- Bij boeken, publicaties of podcasts geldt de voorwaarde: er moet een professionele uitgeverij of omroep/uitzendpartner bij betrokken zijn.
- Bij producties voor publiek geldt een minimum van 6 bevestigde speelbeurten op verschillende podia.
- Bij films geldt de voorwaarde: er moet een professionele producent bij betrokken zijn. Bij films maken wij dan ook de uitzondering dat de aanvrager een BV kan zijn.
- We financieren geen normale dagelijkse uitgaven en/of structurele kosten van organisaties.
- Ook aan talentontwikkeltrajecten, album- of EP opnames, festivals of festivalonderdelen, losse impactcampagnes en artist in residence programma’s dragen wij niet bij.
Onderzoek
Sinds de start van Fonds ZOZ doen we sociologisch onderzoek naar de impact van ondersteunde projecten. De bevindingen en leerpunten nemen wij mee bij de beoordeling van toekomstige projecten.
